| 2015 | All programs—Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral—passed the accreditation conducted by the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT). |
| 2009 | The Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral programs were accredited by the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT) in 2009. |
| 2000 | On February 1st, following the University's reorganization, the department was officially renamed as the "Department of Economics, College of Social Sciences, National Taipei University," encompassing Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral programs. |
| 1997 | The Evening Division was reorganized as the Division of Extension Education. |
| 1995 | In accordance with the newly amended University Act, the Graduate Institute of Economics was merged into the Department of Economics. The Department was reorganized into a comprehensive academic unit including Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral programs. |
| 1991 | The admission to the Regular Division of the undergraduate program was expanded to two classes. |
| 1987 | The Ph.D. program was established in the Graduate Institute of Economics at the College of Law and Business, National Chung Hsing University. |
| 1979 | The Master's program was established in the Graduate Institute of Economics at the College of Law and Business, National Chung Hsing University. |
| 1971 | Upgraded to the Department of Economics at the College of Law and Business, National Chung-Hsin University. |
| 1964 | Began admitting students to the Evening Division, implementing a dual-track undergraduate program consisting of both Regular and Evening Divisions. |
| 1961 | Reorganized as the Department of Economics, College of Law and Business, Taiwan Provincial Chung-Hsin University. |
| 1958 | Renamed as the Department of Economics by order of the Ministry of Education. |
| 1955 | Reorganized as the Department of Public Finance, Taiwan Provincial College of Law and Business. |
| 1949 | The Department of Public Finance at the Taiwan Provincial College of Public Administration was established. |
