Degree Requirements
Master's Program
- Credits for Core Courses: 14 credits
- Credits for Elective Courses: 20 credits (Including a maximum of 6 credits from other departments)
- Master's Thesis: Completion of a thesis and passing the oral defense
Ph.D. Program
- Credits for Core Courses: 12 credits
- Credits for Elective Courses: 27 credits
- Including a maximum of 3 credits from other departments
- Including a maximum of 6 credits from the Economics departments at other national universities
- Qualifying Exams: Students must pass the qualifying exams in two fields selected from Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Econometrics.
- Exemption via Grades: An exam can be waived if the student achieves an average grade of 80 or above in the corresponding core courses.
- Exemption via Publication: One exam can be waived by publishing two papers in recognized academic journals.
- Dissertation Proposal: Students must pass the proposal defense to achieve Ph.D. candidacy.
- Dissertation: Students must complete a dissertation and pass the oral defense to receive a Ph.D. degree.
